We have an exciting update on the progress of our “Ohio House Rabbit Rescue” license plate! After being passed by the House Transportation Committee in March of 2022 it was incorporated into an omnibus bill (House Bill 578) that contained other license plates and the renaming of some highways. The big bill finally made it through the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 14, 2022. It was signed into law by the Governor on January 5, 2023 and will go into effect on April 6, 2023.
We are now working with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles to create the actual license plate. We were able to collect 178 complete petition signatures and those have been submitted (thank you to everyone who signed!!). The artwork and other necessary documents have also been sent in. We anticipate the license plate to be available for purchase in the next couple months. Stay tuned!
